Walk for the
Animals!
A heartfelt welcome to all!
Take a walk on the wild side and join us at The
Grateful Dog Walk. Grab your leashes, lace up your sneakers,
form a ‘dog or puppy pack,’ and don’t forget your favorite
fur-clad buddy! Central Pennsylvania Animal Alliance is excited
to host our fourth Grateful Dog Walk. The Walk, part of CPAA’s
WoofStock Festival is scheduled at Riverfront Park, Harrisburg,
Pa. for Sunday, September 28 at 10am. Last years Walk was a
blast and the donations collected greatly benefited CPAA’s
“DeSex in the City” Spay Neuter Program, and CPAA member
organizations.
The Walk is a leisurely stroll near the beautiful Susquehanna
River through Harrisburg’s Riverfront Park. The Walk will begin
on the City Island side of the Walnut Street walking bridge.
Participants will circle City Island, cross the Walnut Street
walking bridge, go toward the Harrisburg Hospital, then turn
around and enjoy the scenery of Riverfront Park while making
their way back to Kunkel Plaza where WoofStock will HOWL at
11am! Water stations will be available along the route for
all participants, with fur or without!
Don’t go around with your tail between your legs… if you’re
dog-less you can still hound your friends, family and co-workers
to make a donation to this great cause. Take part in the walk
and possibly fall in love with an adoptable pooch from one of
the rescues or shelters attending.
Participants who choose to leave their paw prints on the entire
route will finish at Kunkel Plaza and help kick off WoofStock,
CPAA's version of a doggie love in, at 11am. Bring a blanket or
lawn chair and relax with your best friend. Listen to some good
ole' rock n' roll or get down to tunes from some of Pa's
grooviest bands and acoustics performers. Enter your pooch in
the Funkytown Pet Costume contest, check out the wonderful
homeless pets making their debut in the ‘Rescue Me Rockin’ Mutt
Strut’ or just enjoy the day!
All donations gathered at The Grateful Dog Walk and WoofStock
benefit member organizations and CPAA’s Spay/Neuter and Vaccine
Programs. The registration fee alone won’t make the walk a
success. Check out the groovy prizes and download a pledge
form now. Email
