The Grateful Dog Walk 2008 - Info

The CPAA Grateful Dog Walk is a fun, fit activity for anyone who has ever loved an animal or wished they could help needy animals in our community.  Participants will be raising funds to benefit CPAA member organizations or the CPAA spay/neuter fund, or the CPAA HOPE Dogs Program.  Please visit www.cpaa.info for a list of our members and more information on CPAA and our programs.

All donations directly help needy animals in our community so no amount is too small.   Help make this walk a terrific success for CPAA and member organizations.  The more contributions you raise, the more successful we’ll be at achieving our missions.  Thank you so very much!

The Rules -  Please Read Carefully!

All forms available at www.cpaawoofstock.com for downloading or for snail mailed forms contact gratefuldogwalk@msn.com or call 717-564-7592 .Registration is $20.00 per walker, or $10.00 per dog /puppy pack walker.  Packs must consist of 4-8 walkers.  Choose a ‘pack leader’. The pack leader is responsible for gathering all forms /donations to be turned in at the time of registration.  All ‘pack team’ member donations must be designated to the same organization. Furry walkers are free!  Register the day of the walk at 8:45 AM at City Island/Walnut Street Bridge entrance or pre-register by mailing form and checks payable to CPAA to 7239 Huntingdon Street, Harrisburg, Pa 17111 by September 17.    Registration fees waived with donations of $100+ per walker and designated to the CPAA Spay/Neuter Fund or CPAA HOPE Dogs Program.

All donations are due the day of the walk and checks should be made payable to CPAA.  Participants may choose CPAA or any CPAA member organization to benefit from their collected donations.  After all donations are tallied, CPAA will send a check for the grand total collected for each member organization.  The ENTIRE amount of collected donations will go directly to the CPAA S/N Fund or member organization listed on the form.

When collecting donations, please ask if the person’s employer has a donation-matching program.  If so, the donation may be doubled once the appropriate paperwork has been completed.

Registration begins at 8:45 near the City Island entrance to the Walnut Street Bridge.

Upon completion of the walk, participants are invited to enjoy the rest of CPAA’s WoofStock festivities from 11:00 a.m. –5 p.m. along Riverfront Park.   

Please keep dogs on a short leash and under control at all times. Vaccinations should be up to date with a rabies tag. No dogs in heat. If your dog is not already spayed/neutered, please visit the CPAA ‘De-Sex in the City’ booth for information about spay neuter services or call 717-576-0899.

*Prizes awarded at noon at Kunkel Plaza/Riverfront Park.  All winners please stay at Kunkel Plaza until photos are taken!

I agree to take full responsibility for my person and any animal I bring to the walk.

I will not hold CPAA or the Harrisburg Parks Dept. responsible for any damage or injury.

I understand there are no refunds and this is a rain or shine event.
