Best known for their driving rhythm section, tight vocal harmonies and exceptional horns, THE MAXWELL PROJECT (formerly known as “Maxwell”) has performed extensively throughout the Pennsylvania area for many years. The 10-piece group, which includes a five-piece horn section and three lead vocalists, has recorded three original CDs and has enjoyed modest area radio play. They cover a wide range of R&B, funk, soul, and smooth jazz material and are well known for their authentic renditions of “Earth, Wind, and Fire” and “Tower of Power” classics. The group has shared the stage with numerous recording acts including R&B legends, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, GQ, McFadden and Whitehead, The Spinners, The Philly Intruders, and Voice of the Stylistics – Russell Thompkins, Jr.
The group’s recent performances include: the Hollywood Casino, Grantville; Strand Capitol Theatre for the Performing Arts, York; NYE Countdown Stage, Harrisburg; Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts; Heritage Hills Country Club, York; The Yacht Club, Philadelphia; Keystone International Balloon Fest, Lancaster; and the Host Expo Center, Lancaster.
