Nancy Ryan – Pet Costume Contest

Radio personality and host Nancy Ryan will be emceeing the Pet Costume Contest at Kunkle Plaza at 3 pm. Nancy and her family adopted CPAA alum Murphy. In 2012, Murphy was discovered taped inside a cardboard box under a bridge by the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg—injured and starving. CPAA rushed to his aid and took him into foster care. At a CPAA event in 2013, Nancy met Murphy, and it was love at first sight—as you can see in this photo. Murphy went to live with Nancy and her family a few weeks later. After a very sad beginning, Murphy got his happily ever after with a family that adores him, and he them.

Art Selby – emcee

Art Selby has been with WHP 580 since 1995. He is currently the Assistant Program Director for WHP 580 and Fox Sports 1460, the producer of the Ken Matthews Show, and was the producer for Bob Durgin for many years. In the fall, you can hear Art announce Bishop McDevitt High School football games on WHP 580 and Fox Sports 1460.
Art graduated from Littlestown High School in 1990 and received his communications degree from Mansfield University in 1994. Art and his wife, Becky, live on a farm near Halifax. While they don’t have any human children, they have enough animal kids to open their own zoo. Art just might be the biggest animal lover and sports fan you’ll ever meet!

Festival Guidelines

Safety is our number one concern at WoofStock. Please review our festival guidelines to ensure WoofStock remains safe and fun for all.
  • Dogs in attendance must be comfortable in large crowds and around other dogs. If your dog does not play well with others, please leave him or her at home.
  • The Central PA Animal Alliance (CPAA) reserves the right to refuse admittance to any animal displaying aggression toward other animals or people. Safety is our number one concern. Anyone handling an animal that displays aggression toward other animals or people will be to told to remove the animal from the festival.
  • Retractable leashes are NOT permitted at WoofStock. All non-retractable leashes should be kept at a length of 6FT or less.
  • Adoptions are NOT permitted at WoofStock. Rescues, Shelters, and Adoption Organizations: The Central PA Animal Alliance (CPAA) has worked and advocated for an end to the pet overpopulation crisis for the past 18 years. We firmly believe that the spay and neuter of all companion animals is the only answer. As such, registrations to attend WoofStock will not be accepted from rescues and shelters who do not spay/neuter animals prior to adoption.
